Four Corners has jointly taken on one of the most ambitious investigations in journalism history in a bid to get through the front door of law firm Mossack Fonseca — the parallel world of tax havens. But it was no easy feat, writes Marian Wilkinson.It was already dark when we landed at Panama’s main airport and the drive into the capital was disorienting.

  1. Thanks for the report. During my Singapore years I was made aware of offshore shell companies and learned most of the operations for South East Asia are channelled through Hong Kong and through there to Panama, BVI and some lesser known havens, no doubt with the full understanding of China. It’s a murky world indeed and no matter how they can rationalize, even though legal, it certainly does work around local laws and in my opinion affect the tax base of any country. But if you shut down one operation it will spring up elsewhere. Believe me its not only capitalism involved but socialism is an equal contributor to the system. Ian
